What constitutes a 'good therapist'?

I have just had 3 clients that all said 'I can tell you know what I am talking about.'

In our profession, self-disclosure is something very rarely encouraged - by this we mean, it should always be about the client - how they are feeling and what brought them to therapy.

In reality, a good therapist is someone who understands and has had a wealth of Lived Experiences.

The therapeutic relationship is based on a connection that holds the client's emotional journey in a safe and supportive space, giving each individual a platform to speak, be heard and be validated.

Whatever that experience may be.

Need some direction in your life - relationship not quite what it used to be or you are dealing with anxiety or depression. Reach out and start doing more of what is good for you and less of what is not.
