I hear you say:
"So, what is in it for me to see a therapist? I’m ok, I get a bit anxious or depressed sometimes but I get over it."
Have you said that to yourself before? Have you also asked yourself:
"I wish I understood why I sometimes get into those low states"?
Therapy with a counsellor that you feel comfortable and safe with will work with you to explore your thoughts and can help you navigate your feelings and behaviours so you can then develop a better understanding of yourself and of others.
And remember - it is ok for you to 'interview' your therapist to see if you have a connection that facilitates a therapeutic relationship so that you can work towards finding out what makes you tick.
